Overview of Grate Magnets
Grate magnets, often referred to as magnetic grates, are specialized magnetic separation assemblies designed to extract fine ferrous contaminants from free-flowing dry materials. By integrating high-intensity tube magnets within a rigid stainless steel framework, these units are engineered to be positioned directly within the material stream to intercept debris at critical processing points.
These separators are typically installed within conical hoppers, vertical chutes, or floor openings to protect downstream equipment and ensure product purity. The grid-like arrangement is intentionally designed to force the material to cascade through the concentrated magnetic fields, maximizing the interaction between the particles and the tube magnets. This configuration allows for the capture of fine metal dust and microscopic particles that standard external separators may fail to intercept.
